Sam Mendes denies infidelity

Sam Mendes has denied cheating on Kate Winslet.

The director, who announced the split from his wife Kate Winslet last week, was rumoured to have engaged in an extramarital affair with Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress Rebecca Hall.

Simon Hall, a representative for Mendes, called the claims "ridiculous", "utter nonsense" and "untrue."

Further fuelling the suspicions of infidelity, Mendes and Hall have recently been spotted in London and New York together. The pair met in 2006 on the set of Starter for 10, an independent film produced by the director.

Meanwhile, Winslet is currently vacationing in Mexico with her children and brother.
