Osbourne: 'Boyle gets the last laugh'

Sharon Osbourne has claimed that Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle is "laughing all the way to the bloody bank".

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Osbourne suggested that the Scottish singer would not have been fazed when she mocked her appearance in an interview last year.

The 57-year-old was speaking on a US radio station in November when she declared that Boyle "looks like a slapped a**e" and had been hit by "a f**king ugly stick". She later apologised for the outburst.

Reflecting on her behaviour, the talent show judge has now said: "I didn't want to hurt her at all. Yes, I do think she looks like a slapped a**e, and she has been hit with the ugly stick, but she's laughing all the way to the bloody bank, so she's got the last laugh on me.

"I do regret saying that because she is not the sort of woman to counter me, so it's not fair, but somebody asked me in public and I went for it - foot in mouth."

Of her outspoken nature, she added: "If you give it out you have to expect to get it back. I do think that people should say what they feel more, because otherwise it festers and you get an infection."

Osbourne is currently promoting her debut novel Revenge.
