Pregnancy was a complete shock for Jamelia

R&B singer Jamelia has revealed that her pregnancy came as a complete shock to her.

After several visits to her doctor due to feeling unwell, the singer finally discovered that she was three months pregnant.

"I was going backwards and forwards to my doctor," Jamelia told The Mirror. "I told her I was feeling down and I was being sick but I didn't know what was wrong with me.

"She asked if I thought I might be pregnant, but I'd been using contraception. So I told her that it was impossible. She suggested I do a test anyway which I went along with just for her sake. And she turned around and said, 'You're pregnant'. I could not believe it."

The singer has admitted that she has no plans to marry her footballer boyfriend Darren Byfield just yet.

"Darren asks me to marry him every single day," she added. "We will move in together, but marriage is something else. I know Darren is definitely the one I am going to be with forever, and we will get married eventually."
