Johns: 'I faced up to my sex scandal'

Matthew Johns has revealed that he had no choice but to face up to his mistakes last year.
The former NRL star, who was sacked from The Footy Show for his involvement in a group sex scandal, said that he had to learn to forgive himself instead of worrying about his fans forgiving him.
Johns told The Daily Telegraph: "For me, I could not beat myself up about [whether] people will forgive me or not.
"I suppose you have to forgive yourself a bit, and if I had made up excuses or tried to bury myself under a rock, I'd have ended up in a pretty deep hole.
"One of the things with me having to deal with it was to walk straight head on into it and say, 'Righto, I'm facing up to this. I did the wrong thing'. I think that is important for yourself. I have always tried to be honest.
"When you're faced with things that are fairly challenging, the natural reaction for people is to run away from it or reach for the top drawer of excuses, because that's just human nature. You want to lessen the blow.
"But I've found from past experience if you just go and tackle it head on, really it is the only way to do it."
Johns launches his new TV series The Matty Johns Show later this week.
