Boyle's brother, Gerry, and four of their siblings, fear that Dublin-based accountant Ossie Kilkenny might not be the best person to manage the singer's cash after being tipped off by a prominent, unnamed businessman.
Kilkenny, who was introduced to Boyle's management team through her niece, lawyer Kirsty Foy, was previously fined £10,000 by the Institute Of Chartered Accountants in Ireland for breach of the profession's ethical guide, reports the Daily Mail.
Gerry, 55, said that his fears about Kilkenny were heightened when he wrote to Paul McGuinness, the manager of U2, for a reference. A reply stated: "My late mother used to advise me that if I had nothing good to say about someone, to say nothing. I always take her advice in respect of Mr Kilkenny. I have nothing to say about him... I hope your sister has her own lawyer."
Boyle said: "We are very, very worried about Susan in light of what we have found out."
Susan's niece defended Kilkenny, who was not available for comment, in a letter to her uncle. It read: "As a result of Ossie's and my efforts, Susan's deal is massively improved over its original form with no downside for Susan. Further, Ossie does not have control over Susan's money, so he will not have the opportunity to "fleece" her.
"Given all of that, I can't understand why you are making these completely untrue allegations. Ossie deserves a great deal of thanks for what he has done, he certainly does not deserve to be defamed after all these efforts."
