Shannen Doherty 'hit with unpaid tax bill'

Shannen Doherty is reportedly facing further financial woes after being slapped with an unpaid tax bill.

The State of California has issued the actress with a demand for $44,064 (£27,540), reports TMZ.

Tax officials are believed to have served the former 90210 star with the bill on March 22, just days before she was voted off Dancing With The Stars.

A spokesperson for Doherty has since insisted that the request will "be taken care of promptly".

Last month, the 38-year-old was sued for $85,000 (£55,924) by City National Bank.
