The Australian singer, who was charged with driving an unregistered and uninsured car last week, said that she has to "take the responsibility" for her own mistake after originally blaming the misdemeanour on someone else.
Coulter told The Daily Telegraph that she was "humiliated and embarrassed" by the incident, saying: "Just a bit of time, checking myself could have prevented this huge problem that is now hanging over me.
"When someone lends you a car you just trust that it's okay to drive. It hurt quite a lot [when the news broke]. But I take the responsibility - I should have checked. This has been a big blow to my confidence."
Coulter is scheduled to face the driving charges in court on April 15.
