The musicians were seen holding hands at Sydney nightclub Trademark earlier this week, Take40 reports.
Confirmation that Corgan and Jess had met was given by Zane Carney, lead guitarist in Carney. Zane's brother and bandmate Reeve is currently dating Jess's sister and fellow Veronicas star Lisa.
Zane said of Corgan and Jess: "Apparently they're hanging out. I don't know any details. She brought Billy Corgan to the Carney show at Bluesfest and it was awesome."
Reeve added: "I don't really know how much of the rumours are true. But I do know he has been spending time with the Origliasso family!"
He added that The Veronicas want Corgan to work with them on their upcoming "darker" album.
Corgan recently admitted to frustration at constant media speculation about the nature of his relationship with singer/actress Jessica Simpson.
