Jude Law has accepted damages of £9,500 from Hello magazine over pictures of his children taken on a beach.

The publication has agreed to not publish further photos of the Sherlock Holmes star with his children until they reach the age of 18, reports the BBC. It also agreed not to print images of the 37-year-old where "he has a reasonable expectation of privacy".

Hello will pay Law's legal costs as part of the settlement. The photos, which were published in January, were taken in the Caribbean.

Law firm Atkins Thomson revealed the agreement on its website, explaining that Law and his children could expect privacy "at public or private beaches, private sporting events/activities, school events, at or near school or at public or private parks".

Law's latest movie project, the Forest Whitaker thriller Repo Man, opens later this month in the UK.
