The 34-year-old insisted that he is a "peaceful" person who shares many similarities with the religious leaders. He added that he pursued cage fighting because of his insecurities.
Speaking at the launch of his new TV show Alex Reid: The Fight of His Life, he told The Sun: "I am a peaceful man but I guess I am an insecure person, why else would I learn how to fight?
"I don't want to fight, I want to make love. Seriously, it's like Gandhi or Jesus."
