John Terry's father has been charged with dealing cocaine, according to reports.

The Chelsea soccer star's dad, Ted, allegedly set up a deal to supply an undercover reporter with three grams of the class A drug at Unit 4 bar, Chafford Hundred, last year.

The reporter, who was pretending to buy the drug for his boss, was allegedly told: "This is between me and you. Don't tell him I'm John Terry's dad."

The 55-year-old was arrested following the incident and answered bail yesterday. He was released on bail until May 13 when he will appear at Basildon Magistrates Court.

The charge comes after Terry was sacked as England captain following an allegation that he had cheated on his wife with the ex-partner of fellow England player and former Chelsea teammate Wayne Bridge.
