Danner: 'Gwyneth has potential to be mean'

Gwyneth Paltrow's mother has revealed that she has never seen her daughter's "mean" streak.

Actress Blythe Danner, who discovered that her daughter recently described herself as "mean" in an interview, said that although she has never witnessed it, anyone has the "potential" to bring out a bad side.

Danner told Us Magazine: "Well, I still haven't seen [Gwyneth's mean side], but I guess we all have the potential. Nobody's perfect, but I don't see it in her."

She also talked about Paltrow as a mother to 5-year-old Apple and 4-year-old Moses, saying: "She spends a lot of time with them - she answers everything, she anticipates, she never surprises them. They're very happy kids."

Talking about rumours of marital problems between Paltrow and husband Chris Martin, Danner added: "Oh, no! They're... a wonderful family."
