Kasabian are set to record England's official song for the 2006 World Cup.
The Sun reports that the band - Serge Pizzorno, Tom Meighan, Chris Karloff and Chris Edwards - were convinced to undertake the venture by Sky Sports Soccer AM presenter Tim Lovejoy.
The newspaper quotes a source as saying: "Tim is good mates with Serge and Tom and they had joked about doing the song in the past. It was mentioned again recently and this time they decided to go for it. The FA have given the plan the green light so the idea is no up and running."
