Paul Gascoigne has denied a drink-driving charge in court today, according to reports.

The ex-footballer, who was alleged to have been more than four times over the legal driving limit, was arrested during a fishing trip last year, says The Mirror.

A friend said: "He's been off the booze for two months thanks to a new girlfriend. They are getting on really well. She's been helping him stay off the booze.

"They're having fun together. He's writing a book on fishing at the moment to get some more cash."
