According to Radar Online, the Valentine's Day actress marked her 38th birthday with friends and family at her home in Brentwood.
Among the guests were Reese Witherspoon, Tobey Maguire, Jason Bateman, Molly Sims, Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Favreau and Laurence Fishburne.
"Even though there were a bunch of celebs there, it didn't feel like a Hollywood party at all. It just seemed like some friends getting together to celebrate a birthday," said a source.
Garner and husband Ben Affleck - who are parents to daughters Violet and Seraphina - also invited their friends' children to join the celebrations, with Maguire and Bateman among those who brought their kids.
"Jen wanted everyone to feel like they could bring their kids, so she didn't want to have [the party] at night," explained one guest.
