The TV chef, who currently hosts ABC's Food Revolution, emerged ahead of the likes of Stephen Fry and Simon Cowell in the T-Mobile survey.
Comic Alan Carr and singer Cheryl Cole also featured in the top five, while Kerry Katona was nominated as the worst possible dinner host.
Katona joined Katie Price, Prime Minister Gordon Brown and footballers Ashley Cole and John Terry in the list.
Party planner Liz Brewer is quoted by Metro as saying: "The personality of the host has a huge impact on the success of night-in as well.
"People respond to the warmth and homeliness of someone like Jamie Oliver, while with Stephen Fry people would expect to be entertained by his wit and repartee."
