Gerald Imes, who the Precious actress has said abused her when she was 7 or 8 years old and he was 13, recently appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in order to apologise to his sibling.
He said: "I abused and betrayed the trust of another sibling, my sister, my blood sister. I'm sorry, Mo'Nique. I'm sorry."
Imes added that he hoped the move would "bring back some family unity''.
Mo'Nique has previously said that she no longer harbours any resentment towards her brother.
