TV presenter George Lamb has admitted that he has turned vegetarian after visiting the Namibian desert on documentary series Parent Trip.

Lamb, 30, and his actor dad Larry lived with the semi-nomadic Himbas as part of the ITV2 series and were forced to slaughter animals with pen knifes for food.

"I almost couldn't go through with it, but it's a big day in the village when they kill an animal and we were guests of the chief," George told The Sun. "It's an honour to slaughter a goat for us. It would have caused uproar if I'd baled out."

However, the Big Brother's Little Brother star claimed that he has not eaten meat since returning in November. "It's made me see it in a different light - the process of how a piece of meat ends up in a supermarket," he said.

Parent Trip airs on Thursday at 9pm on ITV2.
