Michael Flatley has announced that he is reprising his role in Lord Of The Dance for the first time in 12 years.

The dancer will perform his "victory lap" around Europe and the UK in the autumn, which will include two dates at London's O2.

"I am very excited to dance again. I've created many shows but Lord Of The Dance has a special place in my heart," he said.

"It will be different this time around. I've achieved my success and I'm proud of what I've done, this is like a victory lap. This time is for my loyal fans who have been there from the beginning."

Flatley's jaunt will start at the Sheffield Arena, before visiting Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Liverpool, Wembley and Newcastle. Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday.

Lord Of The Dance, which evolved from Flatley's work on Riverdance, broke box office records in the 1990s. Based on an Irish folklore tale, it has been played to over 60 million people in over 60 different countries.
