Oasis have snubbed Live 8 in favour of their own gig, according to the Daily Mail today.
The report claims that the group had orginally planned to appear at the Hyde Park concert on July 2 but have now pulled out to concentrate on their own gig in Manchester that evening.
"Oasis were one of the first bands Bob called because they were one of the seminal groups of the last decade," an insider told the newspaper.
"They said they were going to do it and seemed really excited about it. But then they said they could not do it, and their name had to be taken off the line-up at the last minute. Bob was particularly upset as he spoke to the band himself."
Other acts are managing to juggle their own gigs and Live 8; U2 are even performing at Hyde Park before jetting for a later concert in Vienna.
