McLaren passed away earlier this month from rare cancer mesothelioma. He was 64.
Dame Vivienne Westwood, Adam Ant, Tracey Emin, the Buzzcocks' Steve Diggle and Sir Bob Geldof attended the funeral of the man once called "the godfather of punk".
His coffin, which featured the slogan "too fast to live, too young to die", was carried on a horse-drawn carriage.
Mourners were transported to St Mary Magdalene's church in a green double decker bus emblazoned with the words: "Malcolm was here 1946-2010." The vehicle blasted Sid Vicious's version of 'My Way' while travelling through Camden. The 200 attendees also sang along to McLaren's version of the Max Bygraves song 'You Need Hands'.
A white floral tribute spelled out one of McLaren's slogans, "cash from chaos", inside the church, reports BBC News.
McLaren's son Joseph Corré encouraged fans to participate in a 'minute of mayhem' while McLaren was laid to rest.
Earlier this week, he wrote on Humanade: "In celebration of Malcolm's life we are asking people to observe a MINUTE OF MAYHEM at midday on April 22. Put on your favourite records and let it RIP!"
Corré read a tribute to McLaren written by Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.
"Dear Malcolm, did you take the money with you? Is it in the coffin? Do you mind if I come back tomorrow and dig you up?" it said. "I always had a soft spot for you. You showed me a lot when I was 17... and I owe you a lot for showing me a different side to life."
