The parents of Bruce Beresford-Redman have filed for permanent guardianship of their son’s children, according to People.
The former Survivor producer was detained earlier this month in connection to the disappearance of his wife Monica in Mexico. She was later found dead in the sewer of the resort where the family was staying.
Beresford-Redmond's parents currently have temporary guardianship over the couple's children, Camilia and Alec, until May 20.
In the court documents released earlier this month, Beresford-Redmond's father, David stated: "[We] will be able to address questions that arise from our grandchildren and help guide them towards a happy and fruitful future despite the tragic loss of their mother."
Beresford-Redmond is currently still detained in Mexico pending the investigation.
