Aussie broadcasters Nine and Foxtel have landed the local rights to air the Live 8 concerts next month.
The ABC, which aired the original Live Aid concert in 1985, had originally been expected to gain the rights again.
Five gigs are being held in major cities around the world on July 2, with a host of big name artists signed up to perform.
Nine, a terrestrial broadcaster, will show highlights of the event during primetime on July 3 while pay TV channel Foxtel will air the concerts live and uninterrupted from 9.30pm AEST on July 2.
"The showcase of performers is unprecedented and this, coupled with the incredible venues all around the world, will make a truly special programme," said Michael Healy, director of programming at Nine.
At least two billion viewers are expected to watch Live 8 around the world.
