Akon sues over 'Konvict' fragrance

Akon has reportedly filed a lawsuit against his former business partners over a fragrance.

In the suit, the rapper alleges that his ex-associates used his name for a new perfume without permission, reports the New York Daily News.

The 'Smack That' singer was recently in talks to create and marker his own scent. He later learned that his partners formed Konvict Cosmetics International and began selling the fragrance Konvict without seeking his approval, according to the suit.

Akon is demanding the company cease production of its product.
