Katona mum "so proud" of drug-free Kerry

Kerry Katona's mother Sue has said that her daughter has turned a corner since quitting drugs.

Sue told Closer that Kerry has benefited from signing up to new manager Claire Powell after admitting her past cocaine use.

"Kerry's determined to show everyone that she's not going to relapse," she said. "Kicking her old lifestyle isn't going to be easy and you can never say never when it comes to drugs, but I'm confident she won't go back to them. I think she really has turned over a new leaf this time.

"Since Claire took on Kerry, her feet haven't touched the ground - she's already filming another reality show and it's meant she's so busy she hasn't had time to be sad or focus on the split [from Mark Croft]."

She added: "At her leaving party, she didn't even have an alcoholic drink but stuck to water instead - I was so proud of her.

"Mark was happy for her to be depressed and hidden away from the world. She realised she didn't want to be dragged down any more.

"Kerry is obviously upset that both her husband have said such awful things about her. For Mark to say that she's dead to him so soon after their split when they have had children together is disgusting."
