Justin Bieber's mother has been knocked down by enthusiastic fans of the teenage singer in New Zealand, says ET Online.

The 'Baby' star took to his Twitter account yesterday to urge fans to be safe after mother Pattie Mallette reportedly took a tumble at an airport.

"Finally got to New Zealand last night. The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people," he wrote.

"I want to be able to sign and take pics and meet my fans, but if you are all pushing security won't let me. Let's keep it safe and have fun."

He went on to joke that he is "the most dangerous creature" in the country, while Mallette added on her own Twitter account that she was "okay" and thanked fans for their support.

Bieber was forced to cancel a concert in Australia earlier this week after police expressed concern about the safety of fans.
