According to AZ Central, the popstar is organising a meeting with the mayor of Phoenix and other government officials to discuss the legislation at City Hall this week.
The immigration law, called the toughest in the nation by some, makes it a crime for an immigrant to be in the state without legal proof of residency. It was approved on Friday.
Police have been directed to question any individual they suspect is in the country illegally.
Shakira will also meet children and families who could be affected by the law.
