The text lottery to win tickets for the London Live 8 event has set a world record in receiving over two million entries.
The competition for one of the 75,000 places at the show has been awarded a place in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the world's largest text lottery, reports BreakingNews.ie.
Before lines for the contest closed at midnight last night, it had earned £3 million, around half of which will go towards the costs of staging the event, with the rest being donated to the Prince's Trust.
The arrangements for how to attend the gigs in Paris, Rome, Berlin and Philadelphia have not yet been announced.
