Leona Lewis: 'I'm not ready for kids'

Leona Lewis has revealed that she has no plans to start a family.

The singer, who has been dating her boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa for five years, explained that she wants to focus on her career before having children.

"I'll hold off having kids," she told InStyle magazine. "For sure."

She continued: "I think 40-something is a good age. But maybe a little old to have your first one, but there's no rush."

Lewis also claimed that she will continue to use her fame to promote animal rights.

"I really believe in standing up for what you believe in," she said. "So many people in entertainment are just in it for the money and that's just not what I'm about. I'm a very feisty and passionate person."

Lewis recently said that she would never pose in a bikini.
