David Boreanaz 'in sincere pain'

David Boreanaz has reportedly expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support following revelations about his private life.

The Bones star recently admitted to being unfaithful to his wife Jaime Bergman following reports that an alleged mistress was preparing to sell her story.

Writing on his Twitter account, Bones creator Hart Hanson said: "David Boreanaz has asked me to express to fans his sincere pain, thanks for support, and determination that his family will 'get thru this'."

Bergman's mother recently told E! that the couple are not planning to split and will meet with a counsellor in a bid to repair their marriage.

"My daughter's very strong," she is quoted as saying. "Jaime told me one day, 'Divorce just isn't an option'. They are going to make this work and keep the family together and raise the children."

Boreanaz and Bergman have been married for eight years and have two children together.
