The play tells of an East End mother who is searching for answers about the hate-crime murder of her son. The former EastEnders stars will work closely with its writer, who felt compelled to pen the play following the real-life murder of a friend from art school.
The production comes at a time when hate crime attacks have quadrupled in the area of London that Ridley still lives and works, reports Stage Talk.
Vincent River will open at the Landor Theatre, Clapham, on May 18 and runs until June 5.
