Gerrard, Curran fly off for holiday

Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard and wife Alex Curran yesterday jetted off for a sunshine break with their two daughters.

According to the Daily Star, the couple are keen to spend quality time as a family after being left stunned by rumours that their relationship is on the rocks.

Curran recently insisted that her marriage had never been stronger and claimed that speculation to the contrary was "ridiculous".

Speaking of the pair's holiday, a source close to Gerrard said: "It has been a tough few weeks on and off the field. There's nothing like a bit of sunshine to help put a smile back on your face.

"He and Alex are keen to spend some quality time together with the children, particularly in light of all the horrible rumours that have been going around."

The pair's trip follows the end of the Premier League season, which saw Liverpool finish in a disappointing seventh place.
