Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon has reportedly entered rehab.

According to Radar Online, the actor checked himself into the SOBA Recovery Centre in Malibu following his March 16 arrest.

The 38-year-old, who played Xander Harris on the Joss Whedon series, was tased and taken into custody earlier this year after an apparent drunken confrontation with police. He was charged with defacing property and released on $20,000 (£13,559) bail.

"I'm feeling lucky because alcoholism effected my money management decisions and they are helping me," Brendon told a source.

He added: "I was in treatment in 2005 and unfortunately I had a relapse. In the back of my mind, I always knew I had a problem but it became clear to me when I got arrested."
