The Office star Ricky Gervais has been voted funniest Londoner in a poll conducted by Time Out magazine.
Gervais' writing partner Stephen Merchant came second in the list, followed by Armando Iannucci (the brain behind I'm Alan Partridge and The Day Today.
Ricky said of the result: "It is very flattering, but I think you have to take these things with a pinch of salt. I mean, I was recently voted 17th Most Stylish Man in the World. And Johnny f***ing Vegas beat me. It's like those polls to find Britain's favourite sketch. It's always whatever's currently on the telly followed by Fawlty Towers. Best album ever? Coldplay with the Beatles at number two. Despite that, it's genuinely flattering."
The top ten pans out as follows:
1. Ricky Gervais (The Office)
2. Stephen Merchant (The Office)
3. Armando Iannucci (The Day Today)
4. Craig Brown (Private Eye satirist)
5. Simon Pegg (Spaced)
6. Linda Smith (Radio 4)
7. Ken Livingstone (Mayor of London)
8. Jack Dee (comedian)
9. Cockney W***ker (Viz character)
