Sandi Thom reveals love-split heartache

Sandi Thom has revealed that she was jilted by her fiancé just weeks before her wedding.

The Scottish singer had bought the dress and decided on the venue when Jake Field, who is also her producer, ended the relationship, reports The Daily Record.

Thom, 28, said: "It was the biggest shock I have ever experienced. I never ever envisaged in all my days that Jake and I would split up. I still have the wedding dress.

"It's not been easy. What happened with me and Jake was we just never had a break from each other. We spent five years together, made three albums, lived together, worked together and went everywhere together. It was just too much.

"It's that old metaphor of two trees planted next to each other. They either intertwine so much that it is inconceivable that they will part, or they fight for space. He fought for space."

Thom, who announced in February that her marriage was on hold, has now found new love with US blues giant Joe Bonamassa, who also plays on her new LP Merchants And Thieves.
