Tom pays no attention to media

Tom Cruise has stated that he couldn't care less what people say about him in the press.

The actor has enjoyed more than his fair share of media coverage recently concerning his whirlwind relationship and engagement to Katie Holmes, and then his soaking by pranksters on Sunday.

Appearing at the New York premiere of War of the Worlds, itv.com quotes him as saying: "I don't really pay attention to it. It does not really bother me. You know what I am saying.

"I do my work l live my life and it's never affected anything before. What do I do? I make my movies and I live my life the best way that I feel that I can. I can't control what people say or do . It is not going to change my life."

War of the Worlds goes on general release next weekend.
