Justin Bieber's fans have found a way around a Twitter ban on popular topics.

According to Time, the site recently imposed a restriction on its 'trending topics' feature which barred subjects deemed ‘perpetually popular’ from the section. Because of this, Justin Bieber, who has appeared in the list for months, was dropped entirely.

However, the 16-year-old’s fans found a way around the restriction by imposing slight spelling changes to his name. The names "Twieber" and "Jieber" both hit the top spots on Sunday and have stayed there since.

Devotees of fellow teen star Nick Jonas followed suit on Monday, populating the list with the entry "Jick Nonas".
