Ashley Olsen is safe after her United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing.

According to E! Online, a cockpit fire on the Los Angeles-bound flight caused pilots to land at Washington DC's Dulles International airport at around 9.30pm on Sunday night. The electrical fire reportedly caused a crack in the plane's windshield.

Olsen was one of around 100 passengers on the flight. Her boyfriend Justin Bartha is also said to have been on board, along with actors Pamela Adlon and Jarrod Spector.

There were no reported injuries.
