Also appearing at the gig to raise awareness of African poverty amongst the G8 leaders will be Brits McFly and U.S. band Good Charlotte. Japanese acts performing include Dreams Come True, Def Tech and Rize.
However, some are unsure that the Japanese part of the event will be successful. A music journalist told Reuters: "As far as Japan is concerned, Asian problems are more important at the moment."
