The actress and her partner Lee Mead welcomed the arrival of their first child Betsy earlier this month.
Speaking to the Daily Express, Van Outen confirmed: "Betsy is doing so well. I'm loving it."
Meanwhile, asked how she is losing her baby weight, the 35-year-old replied: "I'm eating regular, nutritious meals instead of doing a fad diet. Apart from that I've just been doing a lot of walking."
Van Outen also admitted that she would like Betsy to have a brother or sister in the future, saying: "I'd like another child at some point."
The star was being interviewed after watching Mead perform in a production of Wicked at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre.
