Madonna amazed by Kabbalah publicity

Madonna has admitted that she is "amazed" by the amount of publicity that Kabbalah is receiving in the media.

The Material Girl singer has been slammed for practising the religion, which states that homosexuality is a curable disease.

In recent months, many celebrities such as Britney Spears, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Lindsay Lohan have expressed an interest in the cult, however Madonna is insisting that she has been a follower for nine years.

"I was pregnant with my daughter and I went to this dinner party where I heard someone talk about the Kabbalah, which seemed to address questions I'd started asking," Femalefirst.co.uk quotes her as saying.

"I've been studying for nine years. I know there's all this fuss about it now, celebrities and so on.

"When I started, there were no celebrities and I just sat at the back of the class."
