Corbett: 'I try to make kisses real'

John Corbett has revealed that he tries to make kissing scenes as genuine as possible while filming.

In an interview with Parade, the actor said that while it had been a long time since kissing Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, he tried to forget the pressure he was under once the cameras started rolling.

"Sarah Jessica and I kissed a lot on the series. I kissed her on a weekly basis for three months in 2000, and for another three months in 2001. But it had been almost nine years, I think, since the last time. So that made it a bigger deal," he said.

Corbett also revealed his secrets for approaching the intimate scenes.

"I like a little gum beforehand, but it's a balancing act. You don't want to have too minty breath because that can be distracting. I prefer kissing on an empty stomach. I like to kiss right before lunch because I get a little nervous, and if it's right after lunch, I tend to overeat and I get belchy and bloated.

"Also, if you've just eaten, you need to check your teeth for anything, like left over broccoli."
