Saturdays star Frankie Sandford has revealed that her temporary split from Dougie Poynter did their relationship "the world of good".

The pair broke up in March but reunited six weeks later after sorting through their problems.

Speaking to New magazine about the romance, Sandford explained: "We got to a point where we needed time apart. It was all getting a bit much and we decided to take a break. To be honest, that time apart has done us the world of good. We needed it."

Sandford admitted that she found it "really tough" to be apart from the McFly singer and "really missed" him when they were not together.

Asked whether she has moved back in with her partner, she replied: "I stay there most nights of the week, but I haven't moved back in. I'm in between Dougie's and my mum and dad's house."

The 21-year-old also dismissed claims that she is planning to marry Poynter before Christmas, insisting that she is "way too young".
