Roger Neal said that Monjack was "fine" the evening before his death, and was excited to relaunch the Brittany Legacy Awards, a charity gala set up in the late actress's name.
"He had photos of Brittany that had never been seen, so he was going to do a photo exhibit and take a few of those prints and sell those to the fundraiser for the foundation," Neal told Us Magazine.
"I think this whole process of the photo exhibit and the gala was going to be a big part of the healing process."
While prescription drugs were found near Monjack's body, Neal said he is sure that they did not factor into his death.
"There was no [police medic] or somebody that tried to say that he overdosed or anything, which we definitely, absolutely do not believe in any way, shape or form. He was too full of life, had too much going on and was too busy.
"If you’re going to check out, you don’t do the things he was doing or be as busy as he was.”
