Sarah Ferguson attends NY book fair

Sarah Ferguson attended a New York trade show on Wednesday to promote her children's books.

The Duchess avoided speaking directly about a recent tabloid scandal during her speech, but hinted that she has not been having an easy time, reports The AP.

"It was quite difficult for me to get to [the event] this morning," she said.

"One or two people in the way. But then you might have read that."

Ferguson also applauded the gathering of authors for inspiring both children and adults with their work.

"We've learned from each one of you passion, we've learned forgiveness, and we've learned that real life is too extreme for fiction. I second that big time."
