The 17-year-old cancelled part of a Jonas Brothers concert tour in order to take part. He was scouted by theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh while playing the part of Gavroche in Les Mis's 2003 run on Broadway.
"I went up to him at the closing night party in New York and told him he was terrific and hoped that one day he would return to play Marius," Mackintosh told The Daily Mail. "We've been in touch a lot and, of course, since then he has become this world-famous star.
"He, his father and I agreed that it would be great if he came and played Marius here in London."
Jonas's run at the Queen's Theatre begins June 21.
