Adult film star Ron Jeremy, who worked with Coleman four times before his death from a brain haemorrhage last week, aged 42, said that the actor didn't want to continue to live in the shadow of his child star past.
Jeremy told Us Magazine: "I've known Gary for years. He was always very nice to me, but he was tough to get along with."
"He was a sweet guy, but he hated being asked to repeat 'Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis?'... He didn't want to live in the past."
Jeremy said that Coleman "didn't like people making jokes about him", because "he had a very sensitive nature".
