Emilia Fox expecting first child

Emilia Fox is pregnant with her first child, it has been announced.

The 35-year-old actress, best known for playing Dr Nikki Alexander on BBC crime drama Silent Witness, is expecting the baby with 41-year-old filmmaker and campaigner Jeremy Gilley.

"They've only just started telling people. Emilia hasn't always had it easy, so we're pleased for her," a source told The Mirror.

Last year, the star - daughter of veteran actor Edward - suffered a miscarriage with her then husband of three years Jared Harris, which resulted in the end of their marriage.

Emilia's spokesperson verified the news: "We can confirm Emilia is pregnant."
