Shirley Manson weds in secret ceremony

Shirley Manson has confirmed that she recently got married in a secret courthouse ceremony in Los Angeles.

The former Garbage singer revealed the marriage during an appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Friday.

"I married an American, it's fantastic. He's not [a musician]. I would never marry a musician," the 43-year-old said.

She added: "It was very unromantic. We eloped and went to the LA courthouse and it was about as unromantic as you can get."

This is her second marriage. She previously married actor Eddie Farrell, who she divorced in 2003.

Manson sparked rumours of an engagement in 2008 when she was seen wearing a diamond ring.
