Ferguson: 'I was drinking during sting'

Sarah Ferguson has claimed that she was drinking during the videotaped sting in which she arranged a $40,000 (£27,000) deal with a reporter in exchange for business contact with her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

In an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, the Duchess said that she was not herself during the scandal, and that she has only recently begun to face her demons.

"I haven't faced the devil in the face because I was in the gutter at that moment," she said.

"So I'm aware of the fact that I've been drinking, you know, that I was not in my right place."

Ferguson's interview with Winfrey will air on June 1.
